Friends in old age (haverim le'et zikna)
"Friends for the old Age" was established to help alleviate the loneliness of the elderly, both by encouraging pet raising and by assisting pet-loving seniors in caring for the animals to which they are strongly attached to. The volunteers come to the elderly homes, host a pleasant company and assist them in all aspects of animal care. The pets provide them with a pleasant and non-judgmental company, and together with the volunteers who visit the them, provide a wonderful and unusual solution to the problem of loneliness.

The suggested activity for students
-
Getting to the elderly’s house, taking their pets on a walk.
-
Having conversations with the elderly person and relieve his or her loneliness.
-
Escort the elderly to the veterinarian with their pet when needed.
-
