Akim
Akim Israel works to promote the rights and quality of life of 35,000 kids and adults who are mentally disabled, as well as their families. Akim works in 65 branches and activity locations, which work in 87 communities across the country. Aside of being a messenger organization, Akim, in collaboration with the ministry of welfare and local authorities, is operating 100 educational frameworks, as well as employment, housing, culture and leisure programs, support centers and a family center, as well as a center for children with special needs. Volunteering at Akim is suitable for students from the special education, social work, psychology and behavioral science fields, who take initiative, who are responsible and patient to others.

The suggested activity for students

Individual mentoring and group activities in out-door housing.

Joining leisure activities in clubs for adults above the age of 21.

Joining leisure activities in clubs for teens younger than 21 years old.

Activities in educational institutions and care programs.
Suitable for students who come from the special education field, as well as social work, psychology and behavioral science, who take initiative, have responsibility and patience for others.
Men are required to have a permit of absence of sex offences.
Days of activity: Sunday to Friday.
Hours of activity: flexible, in accordance to the framework the student will be assigned.
